The Documentary is about None of These Things

This film is an amalgamation of my attempts to find a story connecting the different people in and parts of my life. It ultimately culminated in a film about my experiences surrounding the documentary-making process. In combing through footage from the past three years of my life, I found a narrative and created a movie that I am proud of. The making of this film coincided with a time of healing and growth in my life; the tone of the film shows the joy and pain in healing with each frustrated sigh, spark of hope, and joke from my roommate about how the project would never be completed. This is the story of four failed documentaries and the one that succeeded.

Erin Burke is an undergraduate student in the School of Arts and Sciences. They plan to major in History and are set to graduate in 2025.
