Nia-Angelica Grant

Life stands in the snow

The sun is wet, chattering its teeth,

wagging its tail and becoming dry.

Two lovers collide,

and rust over time

Their clocks come to a stand still.

The tests fail with excellence

Their pencil is so proud,

and the prize awards him with nothing.

The children run into the table

They shatter into pieces,

as the cat runs into the wall.

The mother arrives to work,

while a deer struts the runway

The cars decide to go roller skating.

Black ice has his coronation

Images scream on a screen

18th century statues battling thoughts.

A lonely door stands watch,

as cars drive by with their friends

The abandoned fire hydrant sits in opposition.

The bed falls asleep on the floor

The faux fur starts a fire,

but the moon saves me– gives me a blanket.
