“There it Was, There it Goes” was created to document my fall semester of junior year in real time, as I was going through several life changes and new experiences. I wanted to celebrate some of the most joyous memories I’ve ever had, while also acknowledging how difficult it was to handle everything at once. It exists as a time capsule and a celebration of myself and the people I love.

Ummekulsum Alishah is a third-year student at Rutgers University majoring in Journalism & Media Studies. She is from Sayreville, New Jersey and aspires to be a journalist writing for cultural commentary and sports media. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her cat, and making her friends laugh.
