Two Poems
Joseph Glynn
Unwinding
Exhausted from the toils of today
Shoes eject from socks, socks eject from toes
Grow light as your belongings become disowned
Shirt flies, pants sink, underwear spins around the ceiling fan
You are finally free, absorbed entirely by your cushioned retreat
But there you lay, wondering why something still nags
Dirt from the day clings; so you rise from your cocoon
And take off your skin
But again, you’re so tight, so why stop there?
Unweave all your muscles, pull out all your nerves
Stomach empty? Goodbye. Heart heavy? Later dude.
Your back, your joints, your bones, clatter away
A hail of You crashing on the carpet
Crammer’s Haiku
There’s never enough room
For ink kills all the whitespace
Where I foresaw The End
Joseph Glynn graduated in 2025 with a major in computer science and a minor in labor unions and social movements.
