 A Film By Aniza Jahangir

Love. What is it? Is it the thing that keeps you alive, or the thing that kills you? Is it a thing at all? Can I hold it? Can you? Aniza Jahangir’s archival short “Oh, For the Love of God” questions the definition of love via religious mysticism that argues for the existence, or non-existence, of love. Through the lens of the Bible, this short asks if God is capable of loving humanity and what the experience of love looks like, bookended by secular anxieties and serenities, captioned by excerpts of love poems written by Jahangir.
