The dusk comes with a promise of starlight<\/p>\n

Among the night sky–stars<\/p>\n

As if God had sprinkled them sugar-sweet<\/p>\n

on a perfect black birthday cake.<\/p>\n

I tilt my head, gaze upward, eyes more open than they can be in the fullness of day.<\/p>\n

Not looking at one star, I see them all at once.<\/p>\n

The milky speckles dance along the sky in various patterns, tug at the corners of my lips.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to shove aside my worries, but eventually I realize nothing from my life can touch me.<\/p>\n

Not a single thing can harm me.<\/p>\n
