Sycophantic scythe in the host\u2019s tongue<\/p>\n
Severs your awareness to the scene<\/p>\n
In swift jabs evicting tenderness<\/p>\n
From your unsuspecting eyes<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Within a churned kaleidoscope you watch<\/p>\n
His prancing figure elongated by escape<\/p>\n
Stretched into silver goose necks<\/p>\n
Reclined upon human bodies in chatter<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Keeled upright you never untie your shoes<\/p>\n
Open canvas over white sneakers<\/p>\n
Polluted by the soles of invisible feet<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Your lips plump with desire to speak<\/p>\n
Words thrusting at your feeble windpipe<\/p>\n
Until the pressure at your neck blooms<\/p>\n
Into inky green and purple kisses<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A mosquito pecks at your shoulder blade<\/p>\n
And your skin pinkens with vexation<\/p>\n
At the bitterness in your hand’s sudden bite<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Your shadow is a flock of restless mosquitos<\/p>\n
Shifting into bees that savagely scour<\/p>\n
The surface of your body<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Overcome by pockets of pain in scattered blisters<\/p>\n
You search for slivers of clemency in surrounding faces<\/p>\n
Estranged by bellowed laughter and conversation<\/p>\n
They sting and they sting and they sting and they sting<\/p>\n

Born and raised in Titusville, New Jersey, Julia enjoys reading, singing, watching tv, and appreciating the outdoors.
