Attune<\/p>\n<p>to dark beyond the fall.<\/p>\n<p>Release me from the crescent\u2019s croon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite my plea, we\u2019re kissed each night, moonlight strewn<\/p>\n<p>upon the vast expanse of sea, still I feel it&#8217;s just for me.<\/p>\n<p>Through love\u2019s luscious tune, sing in me moon, release me<\/p>\n<p>from the crescent\u2019s croon.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Little Lottie <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Little Lottie, I love you<\/p>\n<p>I do, I do, I do<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Twirling tunes through her temples, sifting sand from her hair<\/p>\n<p>as she sang the lord\u2019s prayer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stolen notes\u2014<\/p>\n<p>poor canary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hymns of passed days prick Preaching Lips. Little Lottie eclipsed;<\/p>\n<p>Go with God, dying daylight.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Soil spills over Lottie<\/p>\n<p>dropping<\/p>\n<p>sinking her soul.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fate flaunts<\/p>\n<p>its haunting finger.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sing for your father, tonight.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Divine Aphrodite <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lend me the force of you, God<\/p>\n<p>Almighty. Save me her seraphic smile,<\/p>\n<p>sculpt me your own, a new heavenly child.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Deliver a semblance of her stoned seduction.<\/p>\n<p>Slip your celestial scalpel&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>score slits for symmetrical scleras.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can do it again.<\/p>\n<p>Save me space in the jewel maker\u2019s pen,<\/p>\n<p>Licking his lips in cathartic concentration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bent till I break.<\/p>\n<p>Each snip,<\/p>\n<p>perfect ache.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>O, Sea of threaded multitude!<\/p>\n<p>Enigmatic emerald upon skin;<\/p>\n<p>swindled through a stare.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Purity turned putrid\u2014<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Sofia Pasqua<\/strong> is a freshman at Rutgers University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Creative Writing. She is a published poet and winner of multiple local Poetry Out Loud competitions.
