Long COVID in children and adolescents

We still don’t know a lot about long COVID in young people. We don’t know how many have it, what causes it, or what happens to them in the long run. But we know more now than we did in late 2020. Back then, people thought that 1 to 51% of young people could get long COVID after getting sick with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Some young people are really affected and can’t do normal things for a long time after they first get sick. But most of the studies show that young people have milder symptoms. Long COVID seems to be more common in girls who are teenagers and those who already had health problems before getting sick.
