Graduate Students

Emory Barrett is an incoming Ph.D. student in the Graduate Program of Oceanography within the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2026 with a B.S. in Marine Sciences and from Raritan Valley Community College in 2024 with an A.S. in Environmental Science. His research interests broadly include restoration aquaculture, larval dispersal, bivalve ecology & physiology, and biophysical interactions. In 2024, Emory completed an REU project in the Acquafredda lab, developing aquaculture techniques for the ribbed mussel (Geukensia demissa), comparing two microalgae diets to optimize hatchery growth and survival of larvae and juveniles. He is eager to return and continue working with this highly specialized species.
