Tyler Christensen is a Ph.D student of Ecology and Evolution at Rutgers University. He earned his B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources from Rutgers in 2018. His interests include rare species conservation, avian ecology, and wildlife telemetry. Of particular interest are opportunities for applied research and stewardship to address diverse and often conflicting needs of sympatric rare animal and plant species. His graduate research pertains to the stewardship of managed grasslands to provide for multiple guilds of imperiled birds, with a focus on raptors. Other projects include the use of camera trapping, mark-recapture techniques, and radio and GPS telemetry to study the movements and habitat requirements of Northern Copperheads (Agkistrodon contortrix mokasen), bobcats (Lynx rufus), songbirds, and owls.
