Our second-year cohort member, Chen Xing, attended the 15th summer program at the Institute for World Literature at Harvard University this July 2025. She presented her essay “A Realm of Freedom at the Fin-de-Siècle” at the colloquium “Politics, Poetics and World Literature” with her discussant Professor Brendan Beirne from Palo Verde College. The program offers her an invaluable opportunity to engage with intensive seminars led by prestigious professors, such as David Damrosch (Harvard University), Delia Ungureanu (University of Bucharest), Moira Weigel (Harvard University), and Zhang Longxi (Hunan Normal University), etc., and to participate in discussions with fellows from diverse backgrounds and research interests. These experiences will serve as significant sources of inspiration and intellectual growth, helping her refine her work and further develop her research interests.
