Stress Neuroscience

The Corbett Lab is interested in how stress affects our mental and physical health. We are particularly interested in the biological factors that make individuals more resilient or vulnerable to stress. We study stress-related brain regions and immune cells in mice to understand the effects of stress on our mental and physical health. We use viruses to manipulate gene expression, chromatin immunoprecipitation and RNA sequencing to understand transcriptional mechanisms, and chemogenetics to manipulate the activity of specific neural network and circuits.
