Emergency medicine residents from across New Jersey put their clinical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving to the test in The EM Odyssey, an immersive escape room competition at the 2026 NJ ACEP Scientific Assembly.
Designed by the Rutgers Health/RWJBarnabas Health Emergency Medicine Simulation Fellowship, the experience transformed Homer’s Odyssey into a series of hands-on emergency medicine challenges. Teams faced the Cyclops, Circe, the Sirens, Scylla and Charybdis, and more as they raced against the clock to complete their journey home to Ithaca.
