Dena Seidel

Principal Investigator

Dena Seidel is an award winning science filmmaker, educator and cultural anthropologist who combines science video storytelling as part of STEM learning and food systems research. While working with scientists at Rutgers, she developed the original science-in-action storytelling™ model that is the pedagogical basis for the FAME project. Seidel has directed and produced several original feature length science documentaries featuring Rutgers researchers. She is the Founding Director of the Rutgers Center for Digital Filmmaking and the former Director of Digital Storytelling in the Rutgers English Department. Seidel has a Masters Degree in Anthropology with years of experience learning from and working with Pacific indigenous cultures, especially in the Federated States of Micronesia.
