Sign up to learn more about the First 1,000 Days Policy Coalition.
The First 1,000 Days Policy Coalition believes that the time between pregnancy and a child’s second birthday (the “first 1,000 days”) is the most determinative period in a child’s cognitive, socioemotional, and physical development. The Coalition works to identify, develop, and promote evidence-informed policies that best support children and families in this critical time.
The Coalition’s top priority is ensuring all NJ families have access to the early care and education that best suits the needs of the child and family. Understanding that families’ needs are intersectional and that policy systems are interconnected, the Coalition amplifies efforts to expand access to paid leave for families welcoming children and supports initiatives to improve stability and economic conditions for families with young children.
