Grants

My work has been funded by a variety of agencies. I received my first NSF grant in 1972 and have been funded by NSF continuously since 1983. My other regular funder has been the Dept. of Homeland Security, with continuous funding since 2006 except for a short hiatus in 2025-2026 resulting from all university center of excellence funding being cut off). I have also received funding from AFOSR, ONR, ARO, NCHGR, NSA, DARPA, the Sloan Foundation, the AT&T Foundation, the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, and the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology
