Beginning as the Douglass-DIMACS Computing Corps, our organization was founded jointly by Douglass Residential College and the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science(DIMACS) to inspire more women and girls to join the technology field. Douglass-DIMACS Computing Corps(DDCC) focuses on helping women succeed in computing while providing them with the opportunity to give back to the community and practice leadership. Rutgers is a member of the STARS Alliance for Broadening Participation in Computing through Recruiting, Bridging, and Retention. The Douglass-DIMACS Computing Corps is carried out as part of our STARS partnership.

Last year, in 2019, we became a Girls Who Code College Loop and rebranded to the Rutgers University Girls Who Code College Loop. College Loops are Girls Who Code’s university-level networks for college women interested in tech to support one another and help each other succeed in the field of technology. To continue our mission of inspiring more young women and girls to become interested in the technology field, we host biweekly workshops and events for Rutgers students to learn more about tech as well as hosting workshops for middle school and high school students.
