I am happy to share my most recent publication on the global spread of cowpea. By piecing together genetic, textual, and archaeological data I have determined, in greater detail than ever before, the route and timing of the spread of cowpea across the globe. Perhaps the most pertinent information is that I can tentatively place the arrival of cowpea in the Southwestern United States to 1540 CE, over a century before prior estimates.
