Rutgers offers access to three cloud storage services:  OneDrive, Box and Google drive. There are browser and desktop versions of all three. This page list quick start tips. Refer to the Cloud Storage page on the Rutgers Information Technology website for more information for each service as it is offered through Rutgers such as storage limit (quota), how to access and other specifics.

Notes

  • Setup
    • Box and Google Drive require a DIY initial activation. Instructions are in sections below.
  • Quotas
    • While we are offered a lot of storage space, avoid uploading files haphazardly. An organized file structure will help keep track of files so that you know where to find what you want to copy elsewhere when you graduate.
  • In Computer Labs
    • Each service has a sync app which will make cloud files appear as if they are on the local computer. Using these apps (OneDrive, Google Desktop App and Box Desktop) are encouraged. When finished with a computer, always log out of the computer. Otherwise, files may not completely sync.
