Research Interests Neepa Maitra is a theoretical physicist and Professor of Physics at Rutgers University. She is most well known for her contributions to theoretical chemical physics, especially in the development of accurate functionals in time-dependent density functional theory and correlated electron-ion dynamics. Research Interests Patricia is interested in the simulation of ultrafast non adiabatic dynamics of molecules excited by intense ultrashort laser pulses. She is working on the development of mixed-quantum classical methods based on the Exact Factorization approach.  In particular, she  has worked with a new surface hopping algorithm with a decoherence correction scheme derived from
