BEFORE YOU ARRIVE, please note:

MASKS: Face coverings are not required when outdoors on Rutgers property. However, everyone is advised to maintain social distancing protocols, and we have over 50 unvaccinated children registered to attend. We strongly encourage that everyone wears a mask and mandate it for passage through the Cow Tunnel, where we will provide masks for individuals who do not have one on hand.

WEATHER: as of 9/20/21, the weather prediction for Saturday, September 25 is mostly sunny, with a high near 74°F. Chance of precipitation is 30% after 2pm. If the weather changes and we need to postpone to September 26, you will receive another email on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22.

DRESS: Please wear comfortable, layered clothing and comfortable shoes for trekking.

FOOD & DRINK EN ROUTE: Please bring water and snacks for along the route. For food after the March, please see below.

ACTIVITIES & TERRAIN: Participants will join a choreographed, two-mile walk from the Cook-Douglass campus to the Gardens over uneven terrain. Please wear comfortable shoes for trekking. Along the way, participants will encounter live performances of dance, music, storytelling, and guest speakers. Because of the nature of this event, participants will be standing for extended periods and are required to navigate two miles of uneven terrain. Participants may be temporarily separated from their group during certain activities yet will come together again shortly. Only the beginning and the end of the March are accessible via wheelchair and stroller. If you have specific accessibility needs, please email us immediately at march2rugardens@gmail.com, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

SAFETY and COMMUNITY PROTOCOLS: The March is a celebratory event for all ages. RUPD will be on hand throughout the March and will assist us with crossing Ryders Lane. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the March due to inappropriate or disruptive behavior at any time.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms, including ADA-accessible restrooms, are available at the start, middle, and end of the March.
