Alya Bukhari

As an enthusiastic and dedicated educator with 4 years of experience, Alya believes in the transformative power of education to shape the future. With a background in mathematics education, she strives to create a dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, question, and grow.

Alya is known for her innovative teaching methods, fostering critical thinking skills and nurturing a love for learning in her students. Implementing various instructional methods and interactive lessons, such as VR and a flipped classroom approach, she engages learners of all levels, inspiring them to reach their full potential. In addition to her role in the classroom, Alya is the Student Council advisor and Crochet and Crafts Club advisor. She believes in fostering a well-rounded educational experience and in building relationships with students that extend beyond traditional academics.

Alya holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Rutgers University, and a Master of Education in Mathematics Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education with a focus on social justice pedagogy in mathematics. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education, studying social justice mathematics education. Furthermore, she is a Desmos Fellow and a member of the Prisms Paladins, and continues to incorporate various technologies to enhance her teaching. With a passion for empowering students and a dedication to lifelong learning, Alya is excited to continue making a positive impact in the lives of her students and shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
