The NSF-supported BioFLOW IRES Program provides unique research opportunities to U.S. students in the vibrant fields of biomimicry and bio-inspired flow research for ten weeks in Summer 2024. IRES students will be integrated into existing research communities at the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB) at Rutgers University–Camden, before receiving international research training at Adolfo Ibañez University in Santiago, Chile, in Center for applied ecology and sustainability and the Millenium Nucleus for the Development of Super Adaptable Plants

Throughout the program, IRES students will work in close communication with U.S. faculty mentors, Chilean scientists, and other students.

The BioFLOW IRES program offers:

· 10-week research training in bio-inspiration and biomimicry (9-weeks at a Chilean university, 1-week at Rutgers);

· Professional development and career building in an international environment and exposure to the culture of Chile;

· A stipend of $600/week for ten weeks, housing at Rutgers and UAI at no charge; full coverage of the travel between Philadelphia and Santiago, and home city; $500 conference travel funds for accepted IRES research presentations.

U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Please apply on the NSF ETAP website: BioFLOW Research in Chile (Summer 2024). The application is accepted from 02/08 to 03/31, 2024. Selection will be completed by 04/14/2024. Under-represented minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
