Camp Itinerary

Summary of Daily Activities

  • 8:45am – Check-in
  • 9:00am – Improv Workshop
  • 10:15am – AM Ensemble Rehearsals
  • LUNCH
  • 1:15pm – Masterclasses
  • 2:30pm – PM Ensemble Rehearsals
  • 4:00pm – Camp Day Concludes
  • 7:00pm – Featured Activity/Event! (commuting students welcome). This includes feature artist and faculty performances, jam sessions, and, of course, the final student showcase on Friday!

What Musical Items to Bring for Camp?

For each instrument group, please be aware of the items to bring for the camp week as follows:

For Brass

Students are to bring basic mutes and key/slide oil. Doubles (such as Flugel Horn) are encouraged but optional. Portable instrument stands are highly recommended.

For Woodwinds

Students are to bring extra reeds. Saxophone Doubles (such as flute and clarinet) are encouraged but optional. Portable instrument stands are highly recommended.

For Piano

All rehearsal rooms contain a piano. Piano students are not to bring their own portable keyboards or amps.

For Guitar/Bass

All rehearsal rooms contain a guitar amp and a bass amp. Students are to bring their own patch cables and replacement strings. Though discouraged, students may opt to bring their own practice amp if they choose. Portable instrument stands are highly recommended.

For Drums

All rehearsal rooms contain a full drum kit that includes all drum and cymbal stands. Students are to bring their own cymbals (ride, crash, hi-hats), sticks/brushes, and a Hi-Hat Clutch (link is an example), all of which may easily fit in a cymbal bag. Drum students are not to bring their own drum kits.

Other

All rehearsal spaces contain music stands. Students do not need to bring their own.
