Kamren C. Gorman
Masters Student, Aronson Lab for the Urban Ecological Studies
I am currently working on a Wetland Restoration Monitoring project in Stafford Township, New Jersey. I’m interested in how the plant and bird communities respond to restoration efforts. In the time between earning my undergraduate degree and joining the Aronson lab as a Master’s student, I was lucky enough to have two great experiences abroad. I spent nearly a month in central Kenya on a Primatology, Wildlife Ecology, and Conservation Field School. Whatever words I chose fail to convey just how life-changing that experience was. Similarly, I spend time in Costa Rica with The Macaw Society as a volunteer field assistant. I got hands-on experience working with Yellow-naped Parrots and Scarlet Macaws. Putting the treasures of the past aside, upon earning my graduate degree, I hope to join the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and work on Wetland Conservation and Restoration.
