Abstract: The Rutgers Exercise Psychophysiology Lab’s primary research focuses on the effects of exercise on neurocognitive, physiological, and psychological resilience. This poster will outline my experience as a student research assistant in the Rutgers Exercise Psychophysiology Lab. I was primarily involved with the Acute Exercise and Cognition Study, which sought to examine the effects of a single bout of acute aerobic and resistance exercise on the executive cognitive functioning in young adults. The progress of this study was significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In my future with the Rutgers Exercise Psychophysiology Lab, I plan to continue data collection with the Acute Exercise and Cognition study and develop an independent research project using the skillsets I have acquired during my time in the lab.
