July 2026: Dr. Nyangahu received an NIH Catalyst Award for Early-Stage Investigators (DP1) that is meant to support innovative HIV-related research. Together with his collaborators, he will study how early life gut microbiota impact brain development in infants who are exposed to HIV but uninfected.

December 2024: Publication Alert! Our latest research article has been published. We observed profound alterations in gut microbiota comparing neonates exposed to HIV but uninfected compared to those who were unexposed. We also noted differences in intestinal antibody-microbiota interactions by HIV exposure. Read the full article here:
