The symposium organizer Prof. Kimura also advertised an upcoming online international roundtable organized by the Paris Genji Project that will be held on Dec. 12 & 13, 2020, on the theme “Instances of selfhood in The Tale of Genji and beyond.” My talk is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 and will address “The problem of substitution in the Uji Chapters.”
