About
Across the world, critical foundational AI terms are used inconsistently and
lack clear, commonly accepted definitions creating confusion around core AI concepts.
The Defining AI project aims to nurture simple, clear, and globally aligned definitions for these critical concepts by collecting original perspectives from scholars and practitioners worldwide and synthesizing them into shared,
easily understood definitions.
This effort unites 100+ co-authors, a team of lead authors, and an editorial lead,
expected to produce at least one major journal publication.
We invite selected scholars and practitioners from academia, industry, government, and nonprofit sectors to contribute their perspectives.
Invitees are expected to share their original insights and perspectives. Contributions will be collected through the Collaboration Interface and synthesized, edited, and integrated into the final output, which is expected to lead to at least one major journal publication.
Selected and approved contributors will be credited as co-authors in the primary journal publication. Submission does not imply acceptance or approval of contributions.
