Approving an Image Series

After acquiring images and mounting them in the proper positions within the series template it is critical that the series be approved for long term storage.

The series approval process

  • Ensures anatomic information is linked to each image in a series
  • Prevents further modification or deletion of the series and its images
  • Allows for images to be accessible from other imaging systems including Dolphin Imaging and Carestream x-ray printers

To approve a series, click the Save button located in the toolbar or right click on the series to be approved and select Change approval.

From the Save series dialog box, optionally enter a Series description and click Ok

If the user logged into MiPACS has approval rights, the series will immediately be approved and sent to the MiPACS storage server. Otherwise, you will be prompted to swipe a faculty approval card.
