Since joining SPAR in Fall 2020, I have enjoyed practicing my science communication and policy skills through various workshops offered by SPAR and our partner organizations. Last winter I also wrote and published a policy-memo in the Journal of Science Policy & Governance about oyster farming and reef restoration with other SPAR members. This year I look forward to serving as the Communications Director of the New Brunswick group.
I am a master’s student in Ecology and Evolution, and I study how horseshoe crabs and migratory shorebirds interact with oyster farms. Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between scientists, industry, and decisionmakers. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, cooking, and spending time outdoors!
