Upcoming Training Opportunities
Registration for the CSS Clinician Documentation training is OPEN! The training will review CSS interventions, psychiatric rehabilitation goals, values, and principles, the comprehensive rehabilitation needs assessment (CRNA), and the individualized rehabilitation plan (IRP). Sessions will be small enough to provide participants with practice opportunities.
The virtual/remote training option will be offered via Zoom and will be completed in two sessions, scheduled for 2 consecutive Tuesdays in November.
Participants must attend both sessions:
- Part 1: November 18th , from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Part 2: November 25th , from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- This is a camera-on event. If you believe you will be unable to have your camera on throughout the entirety of the Zoom session, your supervisor must reach out to us directly.

Meeting People Where They Are: Harm Reduction Strategies in CSS
This 90-minute webinar is designed for CSS staff looking to strengthen their understanding and practical application of harm reduction strategies. The session will cover core principles of harm reduction, effective techniques for supporting individuals who use substances, and approaches to fostering a safe, respectful, and non-coercive environment. Emphasis will be placed on trauma-informed care, reducing stigma, and promoting client autonomy, equipping staff with tools to better support recovery and improve quality of life.
Registration is OPEN for the CSS orientation modules available through the online learning platform Canvas. If you need access to the training, please reach out to the instructors.
The Orientation Modules are pre-requisites to all CSS training facilitated by the Rutgers CSS Training and Technical Assistance Initiative team. There are five modules in total.
The first 3 modules open to all CSS staff cover:
- An Overview of CSS Admissions and Documentation Processes
- CSS Services
- The Golden Thread of Documentation
There are an additional two modules for staff who develop CSS documentation (clinicians/RN’s):
- Developing the Rehabilitation Needs Assessment
- Developing the Individualized Rehabilitation Plan
