Rutgers licenses REDCap to aid researchers in data collection and management. REDCap is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. REDCap is a great resource for projects that:

Collect data at multiple time points (e.g., pre-post designs)
Collect data for studies with multiple arms (e.g., treatment, comparison, control)
Collect and manage data for projects that utilize multiple data collection tools (e.g., data from EMR, questionnaires, lab data)

REDCAP can securely link individual participants across time points and data collection instruments and is preferred by the IRB for storing sensitive data.
