Dr. Bartholomew has been working in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation since 1988. He has worked as a caseworker in a clubhouse. He was a residential coordinator of a supportive housing agency with numerous group homes, supportive housing sites and a respite unit. He was also a program director of a partial care program. For the last twelve years, he has been on the faculty of Rutgers University and a consultant to the state of New Jersey’s state psychiatric hospital leadership. Dr. Bartholomew has provided and supervised the Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) program since 2006 and conducted extensive research into the program including research as part of a National Institute of Health grant. Dr. Bartholomew has presented over 100 trainings on IMR to mental health staff. Dr. Bartholomew’s current research interests include prevention of psychiatric inpatient violence, implementing clinical supervision as well as research into the effectiveness of Trauma treatments.
