The Stages of Change Model (Transtheoretical Model) was developed in the late 1970s by studying smokers who were trying to quit, however, it has become widely accepted as a model for intentional change in the behavioral healthcare field. This training will discuss change in general, the stages of change, matching clinical interventions to stages of readiness, limitations of the model, and why the stages may be more relevant than we realize.
