Alumni Tutor Drop-In Hours

Drop-in Tutoring is facilitated by the OAS Alumni tutors, graduates of SON currently working in the healthcare field or enrolled in graduate school.

Students are encouraged to use drop-in tutoring for quick, course specific questions not requiring an entire appointment (1 hour). Drop-in sessions are also a unique opportunity to self-assess your understanding by listening to other student questions and tutor responses.

How to Access Drop-In Tutoring

Follow these simple steps to join an Alumni Drop-In Tutoring session:

• Go to WC Online

• From the Schedules drop-down menu, select Alumni Drop-In Tutoring

• Choose an available drop-in session

• Complete the registration form

• Click the red “Join WC Online Classroom” button

• Enter the classroom and begin your session

No appointment needed—just drop in when you need help!

Before attending drop-in tutoring, students should self-assess their understanding of current course material. This includes completing any assigned reading, reviewing class PowerPoints, creating study aids and completing adaptive quizzing questions.

Students are encouraged to write down questions during their own self-assessment to bring to alumni tutoring.

In addition to drop-in tutoring, all undergraduate nursing students may schedule a one hour tutoring session with an alumni or faculty nominated peer tutor. To schedule a peer tutoring appointment, visit WC Online. 

Please note: Students are limited to one, one-hour appointment per week. For additional support students may attend drop-in tutoring or schedule an academic coaching appointment.
