Alumni Tutoring
Alumni Tutoring is available to all undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Nursing. Students can request one peer or alumni tutoring appointment per week (7-day period). All appointments are one hour. For additional learning assistance, alumni tutors are available for drop-in support.

Alumni tutors recently completed their undergraduate degree at the Rutgers School of Nursing, are high achieving students with a 3.5 or higher GPA, have taken the NCLEX, and are working as nurses or are enrolled in a School of Nursing Graduate program. Alumni Tutors can tutor all undergraduate nursing classes and apply their experience as nurses when helping students understanding nursing concepts.

- Tips for taking effective notes and reading your textbook
- Strategies for balancing your time in nursing school
- Utilizing Sherpath and EAQ questions to improve your understanding
- How to study for an NCLEX Style exam
- Understanding how to read your HESI Remediation report
- Real world examples to help students gain additional understanding
- All alumni tutoring is held on the OAS Canvas page under the Big Blue Button tab.
- Students may request an alumni tutor join their small group study session to help close knowledge gaps. Please note, small group sessions should be no more than five students.
