A Film By Starry Aviles-Espejo

“Nothing” was filmed in Starry’s hometown of Whippany, which is depicted with an angst and frustration reminiscent of Starry’s earlier works. “Nothing” discusses feelings of emptiness and purposelessness through a lo-fi, indie aesthetic inspired by artists like Miro Haverinen and Psyclo, while including a strange optimism indicative of Starry’s artistic style.

Starry Aviles-Espejo is an English Major and Creative Writing Minor at Rutgers University, Class of 2025. Their work has been published in Writers House Review as well as Poet’s Choice.
