Dr. Aziz Ezzat is an assistant professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers University. He is the director of the Renewables’ and Industrial Analytics (RIA) research group founded in September 2019, and co-director of the Energy lab at Rutgers University.
Our general research interest at the RIA research group focuses on engineering-driven data science. Two engineering applications are of central interest: renewable energy and materials science.
The central focus is on constructing data science methods and solutions that leverage the underlying process physics and/or engineering domain knwoledge about a physical/engineering process. Our ultimate goal is either to (1) make inference about process dynamics and/or answer fundamental scientific questions, (2) make probabilistic predictions or forecasts of the process behavior, and (3) make data-informed decisions in light of the probabilistic predictions.
Research Interests:
- Spatio-temporal statistical learning
- Renewable energy analytics
- Probabilistic forecasting and uncertainty quantification
- Industrial statistics and quality engineering
Applications:
- Renewable energy (wind and solar)
- Materials science
