Our Origin:

The Geospatial Data Hub began as a faculty-driven collaboration among Rutgers researchers using geospatial tools to study environmental and health data. With the establishment of CCHH, this effort evolved into a formal initiative designed to connect faculty across disciplines, centralize geospatial resources, and foster collaboration around climate and health research.

Today, the Geospatial Data Hub complements existing Rutgers initiatives like RUGIS and NJ ADAPT, focusing specifically on population health, healthcare system sustainability, and climate-health resilience.

About the Geospatial Data Hub (GSDH):

The Geospatial Data Hub (GSDH) led by Dr. Hari Iyer at Rutgers Health – RWJBarnabas Center for Climate, Health, and Healthcare (CCHH) serves as a platform for geospatial data, tools, and expertise that enable Rutgers researchers to explore the relationships between climate, environments, and health. By bridging data science and health research, the Hub helps turn geospatial insights into action – supporting healthier, more sustainable communities.

Our goal is to make it easier for scientists, research labs, and students to access curated datasets, learn geospatial methods, and collaborate across disciplines to address some of today’s most pressing environmental health challenges.
