David Shreiber and Ian Gaudet have been awarded a patent for collagen methacrylamide, a type-I collagen derviative that matinains the self-assembly properties of type-I collagen but is also highly reactive in the presence of free radicals, which can be spatially generated with a photoinitiator and UV light.
