Gary Monteiro received a 2-year $100,000 award from the New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Research. Gary will study the behavior of neural stem cells that over express the neural cell adhesion molecule L1 on custom collagen-based scaffolds that present fragments of L1 for augmented homophilic binding. The award includes a fellowship stipend, travel allotment, and funds for research supplies.
