Hayley Palmer is a former professional in the food industry with a B.S. in Food Science from the University of California, Davis. Over the past few years, she has held a key role in quality and regulatory domains, showcasing her commitment to industry standards. Currently a second-year Ph.D. student in Dr. Roopchand’s lab, Hayley’s research is dedicated to advancing foods for human health, reflecting her passion for creating nutritious and sustainable food options. She is currently investigating how cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive terpenophenolic compound extracted from industrial hemp, impacts women’s health. Post-graduation, she plans to return to industry, leveraging her skills to contribute significantly to the field. Beyond her professional pursuits, Hayley finds enjoyment in activities such as running, hiking, and immersing herself in the outdoors.
