Emily Bostrom

Emily Bostrom is a second-year Nutritional Biochemistry PhD student. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Gettysburg College in 2022. Currently, she is working in Dr. George Carman’s lab and studying the regulation of the lipin homolog (a protein which helps to regulate fat storage/metabolism) in yeast cells, with the hope of better informing our knowledge of metabolic disorders. When not in the lab, Emily is knee-deep in her ever-growing garden, actively exploring the outdoors, learning a new instrument, or practicing the Danish language.
