Registration for the GRIB 2023 

Conference is now available!

Please join us for a day highlighting graduate student research! The GRIB Conference will include presentations from graduate students and invited keynote speakers, as well as a poster session/competition.

GRIB is organized exclusively by graduate students from the Nutritional Sciences, Endocrinology & Animal Biosciences, Food Science, and Kinesiology & Applied Physiology Departments here at Rutgers University. 

 

Conference Date & Time: Tuesday, April 11, 2023, 8:30am – 4:30pm

Location: Trayes Hall, Douglass Student Center – Cook/Douglass Campus

Registration will remain open until the end of the conference on 4/11/2023.
However, please register by April 5th to guarantee your complimentary conference meal.

Share your research at GRIB 2023!

 

  • Important Information
    • Undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdocs in related fields are all
      encouraged to submit their research for the GRIB poster session.
    • Poster Competition/Session hybrid format: The poster competition/session will be
      held both online and in person.

      • Online Competition: To present a poster at GRIB, we ask that you submit a poster PDF prior to the conference to be judged in the online poster competition. You will not be judged on the day of the conference. All poster judging will be completed and winners selected prior to the day of the conference For more information on the format of the poster competition, please see below
      • In-person Presentations: Posters will be presented in person at the GRIB Conference poster session on April 11. This session will not be part of the judging for the poster competition. Poster presenters are highly encouraged to set up their posters between 8:30am and 9:00am, and they should plan to be available from 11:45am-12:45pm for presentation of their posters during the poster session
    • If submitting a poster, please register for the conference by March 31st.
    • Posters PDF submissions are due by March 31st. Information on how to submit a
      poster PDF will be provided after registration. 
    • ** Even if you do not want to participate in the poster competition, please submit your poster so that a poster board can be prepared on the day of the conference. 

 

  • Key Poster Components
    • A high-scoring poster will include the following components:
      ● Poster title
      ● Names of authors and their respective affiliations
      ● Background and objectives/aims/hypotheses
      ● Methods
      ● Results with graphical representation of your findings (tables, graphs, charts, etc.)
      ● Conclusions/discussion of future directions
      ● Acknowledgements/References if applicable

 

  • Poster Printing

Poster presenters are responsible for printing their own posters.

  • Poster Competition
    • There will be two poster competitions: one for undergraduate poster submissions and one for graduate poster submissions. Submitted posters will enter a poster competition which includes two judging rounds:
      • Popular voting round: All conference registrants will be able to view the poster PDFs via the “Poster Competition” page on the GRIB website beginning April 3rd. They will vote for their favorite posters prior to the conference. Top posters from the popular voting round online will then be scored by our panel of graduate student and faculty judges.
      • Judges voting round: Top posters from the popular voting round will be scored by a panel of judges composed of faculty members and graduate students from four departments: Nutritional Sciences, Food Science, Endocrinology and Animal Biosciences, and Kinesiology and Applied Physiology.

Top undergraduate and graduate posters from the judges’ voting round will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. To be eligible for awards, poster PDF files must be submitted to GRIB by March 31st.
