Jason Peralta (REU, William Patterson University)

Current Lab Members

I’m a senior at William Paterson University studying Environmental Sustainability with three minors in public health, anthropology, and social justice.

I’m a student in the summer 2024 REU program and have been working in the field and collecting data on bird migration stopover sites. My team and I have been looking at vegetation species, observing vegetation layer estimates, and identifying all possible factors as to what makes a stopover site good for birds when migrating.

My main research interests focus on climate change and how it is affecting the human health population. Aside from school, my main hobbies are swimming, playing volleyball and playing computer games. My future career aspiration is to be an environmental health scientist and work on trying to mitigate climate change to protect the health of the human population.
