Shang Xu

Current Lab Members

Shang is keenly interested in understanding the human causes of environmental changes, focusing on both macro and micro aspects, particularly concerning migrating birds. She earned her Bachelor of Engineering degree from Jiujiang University in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, Mainland China. Her Bachelor’s thesis centered on the karyotype analysis of the endemic plant species Impatiens davidii in Lushan Mountain. Shang underwent training as a bird bander at the beginning of her master’s program and is currently working on her master’s thesis, which delves into the age structure and the bird-window collisions.Simultaneously, Shang has actively engaged in scientific communication initiatives, such as creating the 10 most iconic birds on campus and contributing to the weekly birds’ spotlights in collaboration with Dr. Holzapfel.X(Twitter): @shang_sx”
