Provisioning Garden at Cook Office Building

Located on the south-facing aspect of the Cook Office Building, the Provisioning Garden adorns the entryway and walking path along Dudley Road.

The purpose for this garden is to demonstrate a variety of “provisioning” plant species in a garden setting.

  • Food – Apples and blueberries
  • Fiber – Flax
  • Timber – Osage orange (timber slices used in the patio)
  • Aromatics – Black birch and anise hyssop
  • Habitat for Wildlife – Flowering dogwoods, winterberry holly, meadow grasses, and wildflowers
