What is it?

Canopie is a free, HIPAA-compliant maternal mental health app that supports New Jersey moms during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Available on your phone, tablet, or computer, Canopie provides free access to:

  Evidence-based mental health program
  • Virtual support groups for pregnant and postpartum moms
  • Doula and peer support
  • Personalized tools to support emotional well-being
  • Educational classes covering pregnancy, childbirth,  and postpartum. Topics include but are not limited to Labor 101 & 102, lactation, nutrition, prenatal yoga, sleep strategies, pelvic health, and newborn care and safety

Who is it for?

Canopie is available at no cost to pregnant and postpartum moms in New Jersey through two years after giving birth. This project focuses on increasing access to these resources for moms living in New Jersey’s rural counties.

Why is Canopie important for you?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period can bring many changes and challenges. Canopie makes it easier to access trusted support, education, and mental health and wellness resources whenever and wherever you need them. All services are available in English and Spanish.

Who is conducting this project?

This project is led by the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions at Rutgers University School of Health Professions in partnership with Canopie. Funding is provided through the New Jersey Rural Health Transformation Program.

What is it about?

The goal of this project is to increase access to pregnancy, postpartum, and maternal mental health resources for moms living in rural communities throughout New Jersey.
